I had no clue …

… when I wrote my last two posts.  No idea that this snow would turn into worst we can ever remember.   Two feet of snow would be no exaggeration and temperatures of -17C  have been noted.  We’re now a fortnight into it, and no sign of a thaw, indeed it snowed heavily again this morning.  This has meant a lot of time and energy being expended in the snow-shifting department, and I’m very fed up of it all now.  This morning’s snow rendered the paths navigable with care, so I guess that was a bonus.  The forecast says the thaw should start tomorrow, which will make for fun and games on the roads again.
How quickly it went from this …

A little bit of snow

to this.

A big bit of snow!

It’s very pretty, although normal life has been suspended.  For the record …

About pinkshoesknits

Hi, Pinkshoes here. This is my first crack at blogging so here's a couple of things about me. I live with my husband in a pretty village in East Yorkshire. I love to get down and dirty on my allotment and when I clean up my act I love knitting, crochet and sewing. If you share these hobbies, maybe you'd like to check in from time to time and see if there's anything interesting round here.

Many thanks for popping your name on the Splash of Colour list. This month’s Splash of Colour week will go on until Monday. If you’re on Flickr you can share your colourful photos there too.

    Your snow pictures are beautiful

    • Thanks Emma – I’m really new to this blogging business, and no idea what I’m doing really. WordPress doesn’t seem very intuitive, or maybe it’s cos I’m thick! If I can work out how to do blogs I like” down the side, yours will be up there – I love your work.
